Across North America many organizations work with clients based in different time zones, which has in the past made it difficult to send automated SMS and email event/appointment reminders with the correct time and time zone for every client.
SMS Client Reminders has developed an innovative solution so that you can now automatically send your SMS and email reminders to any client across all US/Canadian time zones and display each reminder with the correct time and time zone for their location.
The following tutorial explains how to set up your account in order to send reminders across multiple time zones, depending on whether you are using Client Name mode or Direct Input mode to generate your reminders. It assumes you have created an account.
(Please note: currently this feature only works for US/Canadian time zones. If you are not in the US but interested in sending reminders across multiple time zones within your country, please contact us and explain your requirement so we can check if this is possible.)
If you are using Client Name mode to generate your reminders, go to Advanced Settings and select the following options in the section headed Time Zone (for reminders).
(Note: If you are using Client Name mode and sending Manual Reminders, only the Client Specific Time Zones are applicable.)
Include The Time Zone - set this option to Yes if you want to include the relevant time zone code in your reminders e.g. PST, EDT etc
Calendar Specific Time Zone - set this option to Yes if you want to use the time zone of your calendar, where it differs from the time zone of your account.
Client Specific Time Zones - set this option to Yes if you want to use the time zone specified for each Client stored in our system. (Note: After selecting this option, save the settings and go to your Clients to change the time zone for any clients not in the same time zone as your default account time zone.)
Appointment Specific Time Zone - set this option to Yes if you want to use the time zone specified within a calendar appointment, where it differs from your default account and/or calendar time zone.
You can now add Time Zone Codes to any appointment in a location that is in a different time zone from your default account and/or calendar time zone.
When using Appointment Specific Time Zones, the appropriate Time Zone Code must be added to any appointments where a client is based in a different time zone than the default account and/or calendar time zone. The Time Zone Code can be added anywhere within the subject/title or description/text fields in your calendar appointment.
If you are using Direct Input mode to generate your reminders, go to Advanced Settings and select the following options in the section headed Time Zone (for reminders).
(Note: If you are using Direct Input mode and sending Manual Reminders, these time zone features are not applicable.)
